Unit switches itself off.

I have a TomTom One XL, had it about 18 months, version App 8.010. Recently it started switching itself off for no apparrent reason. Sometimes it comes on by itself, other times I have to use the reset switch. In any case I have to in put the destination again. This is very scary to say the least. Anyone hade this problem? Is it hardware or software issue? Any suggestions welcome.

When you get to your deestination, make sure you clear your route. That sometimes helps.

A pin reset sometimes helps as well.

Further, if you make an Explorer, not Home, backup of your unit's contents, then format the unit (not quickformat) then use Explorer to restore the backup, that has solved the issue for some.

Think it's a software, not hardware, problem.
