I really don't want Home running on my computer as a resident program all of the time. What can be done to take it off the system tray? Can't I just start it from the computer whenever I connect my gps?

Launch Home by double clicking on the icon in the task tray. Select Tools | TomTom Home Preferences. On the General tab make sure the check box that is labeled Start TomTom Home automatically ... is unchecked. Then close Home. It will still be in the task tray. Right click on the icon and select Exit.

You can also go to your puters Startup Manager and deselect it.
