TomTom start showing Red Cross

I have seen different posts regarding this problem. My TomTom start model is showing Red Cross on home screen. I tried to reset with the help of holding the reset button nut no result. Even i tried to press the power button 3 times but no result. Even my computer is also not detecting tomtom through usb port. Is there any solution. Thanks

Did you wait until the black and white diagnostic screen came up before you did the 3 presses of the power button?
If so, did you press the button fairly quickly (necessary)?
That should bring up the spinning cog or the spinning wheel icon.
Once you would see that, you need to have MyDrive Connect running already and quickly get your USB connected while the cog/wheel is still spinning.
