I just read on the TomTom website they are are coming out with a FM Transmitter Mount for the X10 models in March 07 - pricing is listed at $49.95... I was waiting for the Car Connect but this seems like it would be better since I don't have to do any modifications to the car to make it work...

The TomTom FM Transmitter Mount is an enhanced windshield mount designed for the GO x10 series that allows navigation instructions, music and hands-free calling to be wirelessly transmitted to car speakers over an FM radio signal. Simply dock the TomTom GO 910 or TomTom GO 510 on the new TomTom FM Transmitter Mount, tune the car radio to an unused FM frequency and select the same frequency on the TomTom GO. Turn by turn instructions and hands-free phone calls can now be heard in HiFi through the car stereo as well as up to 3,000 stored MP3 music files. Users can also hear songs on their iPod over the car speakers if the iPod is connected to their TomTom GO 910/510 device. The seamless integration between the TomTom GO and the car stereo ensures that music is paused when voice instructions are needed or hands-free calls are made.

Hello and welcome nicky.
This mount has a built in FM Transmitters. FM Transmitters allows you to use your radio and external speakers using FM frequency. You would tune to a specific station and your FM transmitter can transmit to that radio station at a certain distance. This accessory is used mostly with IPods.

1) Can you upload songs from an imac's itunes into the 910?
2) Will the fm transmitter allow these to be played over the car sound system?
3) Will the 910 interrupt the music to give driving instructions?
4) Is OS 10.9 supported yet?
Thanks!

1. As long as they're MP3 format, yes. AAC and Protected AAC files will have to be converted first.

2. Yes.

3. Yes.

4. Is that a typo? MacOS is only at 10.4.9 right now, with the forthcoming "Leopard" being 10.5
