Tom tom space for map updates

Does the tom tom with serial number RH 3428801604 get map updates? IF so is it automatically or do I have to do something special?
Can you put battery in this unit?

RH is an XL 30 Series model, 1 GB, updated via TomTom HOME NAV2.

This GPS is no longer supported by TomTom; therefore, it is no longer possible to update it.
