Tom Tom Activation code requires spaces

I am new to this game, but have been using computers since card punch days in 1973. My Tom Tom is now registered and I have an activation code, but it requires spaces between the 3 sets of numbers, my keyboard on the Tom Tom however has no space bar. I am at an impasse - so close and yet so far to activating my USA_Canada maps. HELP! and yes, why is there no help page from Tom tom itself? Could it be because they are asleep in Cyprus?
