hi everyone, I hope some one can help with this problem, a couple of weeks back my tom tom stopped working, even when on charge it will not work, the home screen lights up and the drums play and then after a few seconds a flashing red and white cross appears in the bottom right corner, I have tried resetting with a pin but no joy, I have tried connecting to my pc but its asking me to insert the SD card but this model has one built in, any suggestions !

When you connect the unit to the computer (not Home) does the computer recognize its existence? If so, can you see the contents of the unit when you use Explorer?

If so, make an Explorer, not Home, backup. If not sure how, see here:

Then format the unit. Don't use quickformat. Restore the backup.

Does that help?

If not, then proceed to delete all the loose files in the root of the unit, NO folders or their contents.

Connect to Home.

Accept & install the application offered.

Disconnect the unit from Home using the Device Disconnect icon.

Does that help?
