Software testers wanted

I have written some software that creates startup shutdown splash screens for the
wide-screen devices (GO x10 / x20 / ONE XL) and would like to have a few people
test it

Since there is no 'About' associated with this program (I have scanned the current version for any virus/trojan issues, and there are none -- but the Dropbox version of this file could change over time), could you elaborate a bit on what it does? Does it automatically resize and convert files to the requisite *.bmp file format from other sizes and file types, or ??? What size does it assume the image must be for the target PND?

At this point the backgrounds are 30 preset
The program allows you to enter your name and a contact number so that if the device is found you might get it back.

The screens( files) it creates are Bit map files (BMP) 480X272 pixels with a bit depth of 24 per TomTom.com specifications

I could make the help file downloadable without the program if that would help

The help file TTSplash.chm can now be downloaded at the same location.
I applaud your effert to make sure this is not a virus or tojan file and just
for the record I am a Retired At&T IT security manager who held a CISSP
certifcation.

Doug, now that I see what your objectives are, I think this thread really belongs in our 3rd party software forum (where you can post threads ).

Help Files are now up to date

Unless Some testing finds errors I think its finished

I would like to know what wide-screen devices support changing the
screens from the menu - If we could get replies on this we could
include that list in the help file.

Also if after a little more testing we determine the program is
stable. We will be looking to find a home for it. Somewhere it could
be downloaded from on a permanent basis.

Go940 - Yes - Start-up screen only (in Change preferences / Start-up preferences)
Go950 - Yes - Start-up screen only (in Change preferences / Start-up preferences)
XL LIVE IQ - No

Go 1000 - Yes - Both (in Settings / Change Start-up image, Change shut-down image)
Go 1005 - Yes - Both (in Settings / Change Start-up image, Change shut-down image)
START 60 - No

My GoLive 2050 allows changing the startup and shutdown screens from the menu, after said graphics are loaded onto the Go via My TomTom.

Well so much for being finished

Now allows user to load and resize their own picture with or without aspect control
Added more graphics tools to custom design (Color fill for Circles and boxes)
Help file updated. You may download the help file by itself.

FWIW. The Start 60 (aka Via 1605) is a gorgeous (for one of these style units) 800x400 6" screen.

New Features:

An options file now saves your custom verbiage as well as what’s in the Name and Number boxes if you click make default.

Under Custom Design Added A flood fill tool, an Ellipse tool And additional color.

Reworked the tool buttons to toggle on off or jump from one tool to the other.

All colors for custom design are now controlled from the Color bar

Error trapping has been installed. Help files upgraded

I am not sure if no one has encountered any errors or if no one is trying it.

dastorey, the TTSplash 1.1 works just fine on both my GPS's.

The Default Verbiage does text formatting by placing one line of text toward the top, the 2nd line near the bottom. The Change Verbiage does the text formatting combined in the center. Perhaps I missed it, but is it possible to do the Change but yet retain the Default format?

Text format TTSplash

On the upper right of the TTsplash screen is Style (Canvas or Picture) Picture places the text at the top and bottom. Canvas places it in the center. Or you can go custom design
Click on (Clear Text - Tool) then select Custom Text and put it any where you wish.
Changing The Verbiage should not effect text placement only text content.

Thanks for the info. It was the right-click on Custom Text which is what I was missing.
