ser.tc5400k93505. Turns on. No drums. screen shows gears turning. Touch won't affect screen. Thank you

Are you USB connected to your computer?
I have no serial number reference, so I do not recognise your device and cannot tell you if you should be connected through TomTom Home or MyDrive Connect software.

That would be a GO 1000 / 2405 (depends upon market what they chose to call it).
So we have a Nav3 device. Gears turning not good, but not necessarily hopeless, either.

I can't recall what the last production code responded to, so I'm going to give you two things to try:

1) Keep power button pressed until you have heard the drum reset, about 20 seconds.
2) Keep it pressed for a further 5+ seconds until you enter the black and white bootloader / system Info screen, then release the button.
3) Once you are in the System Info screen, if you press each corner of the screen in sequence, then the device will be sent into Recovery mode.
4) Then physically connect your device to your PC with MyDrive Connect running, and the device should receive new firmware and the device should boot up normally again

PLAN B:
For the third step, when you are at the black and white screen, instead of pressing the four screen corners, press the button again QUICKLY three times in succession.
Then do step 4 as described.

Nav3 used to do it, too. Would point to one of your old posts "elsewhere"... from the 'good old days':

"Thank you for the above.
I had forgotten about pressing the corners in sequence and had tried the old triple tap."

No idea what firmware level the OP has, so figured I'd give him both.
