Saving Favorites

Hi everyone, I'm new to this site so please be gentle.
I have a Tom Tom One 3rd Edition, & am trying to save a favorite with a 'navigate via' in it.
I 'navigate to' my destination, then use the 'find alternate' to go a different route. How can I then SAVE this new route as a favorite?

Favorites are destinations, not routes. It's not possible to save a route on a 3rd Edition.

Note: If you are still using v7 firmware, it's possible to save routes as itineraries. It's a 'hidden' feature. Search the forum to learn about the workaround. However, if you upgrade to Navcore 8, you will lose this ability.
