Rider v2 europe

Hi, I have a rider v2, and being new to this satnav lark, I have had fun sorting the bleutooth out. I have managed to get a phone call coming through to my helmet headset and can call a phone from tapping the screen. But I cannot send a text message (or recieve) from the tomtom unit via b/tooth. It tells me to check my phone---- - for what?.
My phone is a samsung wave s8500.
Anyone any idea.

FWIW, there are three possible 'services' involved... audio, messaging and contact transfer. Not all phones will function in all three modes. It's possible that your phone doesn't support the requisite BT stack protocol necessary to move text back and forth, but supports the audio profile just fine. That's just a general statement of fact. I don't know about your specific phone model.
