Power during first time use / computer

Will I be able to power my tomtom when i plug into my computer via the usb cable for launching "Home"? Or should I charge in the car first?

Either the car adapter or computer cable is sufficient to power your TomTom and charge it -- although it's said that the computer charger can take longer to get the charging done - the USB is limited to 500mA, and the car charger can provide a higher charge current.

I always give a LiPo battery a good overnight charge before I start using it unplugged.
