Plan TomTom Issues, First Time User.

Hi,

I've just gone and bought a Go Expert 7" satnav for my HGV and I've used https://plan.tomtom.com to map a route and it's showing on my SatNav however when I select the route in my routes and click on it and select Drive it then comes up with To Starting Point or To Nearest Point.

Why will it not just take me from point A to point B as I've planned in plan.tomtom? can't figure it out.

Any advice?

You have a starting point A and a destination B if you are not exactly where the start point A is it will route you to the start point. You can remove the start point.

If I've read that right I need to manually delete the start point once I'm ready to navigate to destination.

Once you set your destination, Plan.TomTom.com suggests your current location as a starting point. Unless you want to specifically be routed from A to B there is no reason to set a different starting point.

If you need to navigate to the same addresses repetitively it makes more sense to add them as Places.

Yes remove the start point. The planner puts a start point at your current location if you are off by a few yards when you start your journey you are not at the start point and so Tomtom tries to get you to the original start point first.

This is normal if you select a point A as your start that is not your current location.

Your GPS will ask you to select your current position to go to this point A

Or you select your saved route when you are at this point A.

Say you are 500yds away from your starting point on your saved route, and you start driving. Will it still try and take you there, or will it eventually pick up and continue on your saved route.
