Refurbs don't normally come with the Latest Map Guarantee and the warranty is 6 months, not a year.

Depends in part on where you get your refurb'd unit. Some outlets provide up to a free 2 year extended warranty, others leave you with only the shortened factory warranty.
Understanding that I have zero affiliation with the outfit below, I noted that they are one of the "2 year" group, and claim to provide the latest maps -- although I'm unclear as to how they manage that. I'd certainly quiz them on it. The example is of their GO730 offering.
