New ONE user from Tide Country

Hey All,

I just picked up a 3rd edition ONE from Office Depot....
I was just looking for something simple..Also my first GPS unit..
Looking over this forum, I am afraid to even turn the thing on....
So many 3rd party apps, splashes, maps, etc...It is just overwhelming...

Is there a basic Users quick start guide/FAQ on the things that are must haves for the ONE??

I am a newbie also with a TomTom 720. I am not familiar with the One, but based on my experience, you ought not worry about adding anything right now. Just play with your TomTom and read these forums, and then decide what you need.

One piece of advice. Always back up your device completely using Home before you go through a major software update... just in case.

The suggestion to backup is a good one BUT a better method is backup using Explorer, rather than TTHome to do it. There have been situations where TTHome does not copy all the files properly.
