Hi, New to gps

currently updating the 930.
cost me some sleepless hours.
 
Hope you backed entire contents up using Explorer (not Home) before doing any updating.

I guess I'm lucky. Did not do any back ups and the update was successful.

I did encounter the following issues.

1. the update at first did not work because I had a 720 that I exchanged for the 930. The tomtom update said 'cannot change device within six months'.
it did not accept the device code for the 930.
So it remembered my userid at 'my tomtom' and their system thought, it can't happen that this guy is registering 2 tomtom devices in such a short time.. maybe suspecting me of upgrading a friend's tomtom... lolz.

I was to call tomtom support for help/verification.

2. So, I uninstalled the tomtom home2, created a new user in windows vista,
installed the tomtom home in that user account. Then created a new account in tomtom.com under another email address. So like I was a new 'first time tomtom buyer'.
