maps to new memory card

hi guys, just had to buy a new memory card for my tomtom one.
but no matter what i do i cant get the maps to show up on the tomtom
got a load of .dat files
and a meta file
and few random others
using maps that i have backed up previously.
what am i doing wrong

The maps (plural?) are legitimate ones from TomTom, right?

When you look at the contents of the sd card using Explorer, do you see specific map folders with stuff in them? If yes, what are the map folders called?
