I have TT GO 720 with application version 8.3
Now I copied the map (australia-19) that I took from TT GO 730 (purchased dec 08) to my device (instead of australia-14)
but it gives me an error message: "Problem with map. You cannot use this map on this device: Australia-19"
What should I do ?

Each map is keyed to a particular TomTom unit. You can't swap maps between them.

I hope you still have a copy of your -14 map so that you can get your 720 working without having to get it from TT again. If not, you'll need to delete the -19 map from your 720, connect to TT via TTHome and upload the "right" one (-14) that came with your 720 or was purchased specifically for it. That can take a while.

Of course

I saved my old folder "Australia".
So the question is how do I upgrade the maps without to buy them from their website.

You can't interchange maps from unit to unit, even 2 units of the same model, which yours aren't. This was pointed out to you.

Unfortunately, short of switching the 720 for the 730 where you got the map in the first place, you're out of luck, mate.

TT is the only legitimate place to get maps for a TomTom unit.
