Latest Map Garantee

Hello Everyone. I just got my first TomTom yesterday and have Home installed. When first installed Home, and when I go to "Latest Map Garantee", I'm told I have the most recent maps. As soon as I go the the home page, though, I get a bix that says newer version fo my map are available and wants me to subscribe to the quearterly update service. How can I get the new maps free per the new map garantee?

The LMG in Home is flakey at best. If your unit is less than 30 days old, you are entitled to the latest (8.25 for North America if your model is a Go 7x or 9x model).

Call Support at 866-486-6866 and they should add the 825 to your account to be current.

NOW, you can buy in, if you wish, to the map subscription: 4 map updates over a 12 month period. You will NOT have to pay to get to the 'starting point' map of 825 since you should get it with the lmg. Just the equivalent to 4x$11.95 payments, I think.

I had to email tom tom a copy of my purchase with its date and then a copy of the new map garantee card in your box. Then I called them the next day . Then from phone support they added this map to tom tom home for updating. BUT the map guaranty service is real good and you should consider this.

Phone TT Support and they will load new map to your account if there is a newer map. You will need to FAX/email reciept before they do. Last week I emailed mine for a One XL-S at 6:45 PM and was loading the 8.25 map at 7:15

Like others here, I also had to call TT Support & attach a copy of my receipt to the email they sent me; new map was available for download in TT Home shortly thereafter. Its a process that certainly could be improved, but it does work. New map is better!

Just called the tech support and the lady was really nice and sent me the latest map right away!!!
