Hello there to you all,
First of all, I'm relatively new to GPS and to this great site, therefore I would
appreciate if somebody outhere would please give me some assistance.

I purchased (recently) a new 720 unit, (which I upgraded from the 330 XLS)
However most of the times when I turn this 720 unit on
I only get a grey screen and none of the sats are on, or lit...
I have to "reboot" the system 2 or 3 times for everything to kick in...
ie: for the map's original/live colors and for my sats to show as active...
Am I missing something here, or do I have some type of reception problem ???
It seems that it's having a difficult time getting the sats/map to activate,
regardless of where I'm positioned , inside or outside a building or vehicle...
Any suggestions would be very helpfull.
In spite of that, I Love my tomtom unit, and find it a very usefull tool.
Thank You in advance, for your help/advice.

Reception is very poor inside of a building. Try turning the 720 on while in your car away from your home to see if you have any interference there.

If you are having trouble outside, then there a few things that might help:

1 Just for laughs, do a pin reset. Probably not the problem, but sometimes a device needs a reset.

2. If you have not already done so, get set up with TT Home, and then let it download a quickfix update - that might help.

3. See if it will upgrade your Application when you connect to Home (although I have never had the app version impact the boot-up significantly).

Thank You for your tips, I also did a factory reset, All I can say is that one
of those things worked, I no longer have this problem with my unit.
I'm Loving these units more and more.
Cheers.......
