I have no love for my tom tom

When I bought my tom tom 540 XL is was a great GPS now after 3 yrs and 3 updated maps it has slowed way down planning routes and finding a satellite. replanning is a joke I could be 3-4 miles down the road before it comes up with another route and trying to find a POI is even worse at times. I really want a new GPS but money tight so I have suffer with this junk for awhile longer :rant:

Have you tried resetting the unit by holding the power button about 10 seconds till you hear the drum sounds?

What happens if you put your oldest map back on, or just restore it all from your "day 1" backup if you've got one?
