First Time User

Just purchased and updated maps on my Tom Tom XXL550M my first GPS. Now I am trying to plan my first route. When I put in the street and city I am going to I keep getting these unrelated addresses as a suggestion.

I am trying to get to the Horseshoe Casino Southern Indiana but when I put in the street address on Casino Center Drive it is not recognised evidently. I get suggestions for streets hundreds of miles away. Now the Casino has been in the same location for at least 10 years so what am I doing wrong??

Could be the problem is the identification of the "town", especially since there really isn't one down there. Elizabeth is as close as you get, and you don't say what town name you used.

If you use Elizabeth (which is what they use for their address), you will find that Casino Center Dr SE does appear as a street option.

Sorry.. I must be doing something wrong..

I have gone on T.T. Home... Then to Route Planner...
I put in my home city as the start...
Then put in Casino Center Dr SE Elizabeth, Indiana
I then get a screen that says :

Plan A Route to:

Casino Dr Ft Wayne, In US
Casino Dr Maples, In US

Or review your imput Casino Center Dr SE Elizabeth, Indiana

Then the blue OK button..

If I hit The OK it just keeps coming back to the same screen.

Ah - you are using the online route planner? I was using my TomTom. Is it your TomTom you're having trouble with or the online tool?!? There's no need to use the online tool unless you're curious to see what the options might be and you don't have your unit handy (like: it's in the car, and you're in your office).

Thanks for the reply..Yes I was using the online route planner just to see how it would take me.. I will try the Tom Tom tomorrow ..

But have to ask...Why would the online route planner not have more up to date or better directions than my unit??

Just could not wait so I went out in the cold to get my Tom Tom... Yes the address went into the unit perfectly still experimenting with the options availiable but it looks very user friendly.

No idea why the online planner was having trouble finding the address. Nice to know the units are the most reliable piece of the puzzle!
