Device Not Connected (Yes it is)

Brand new TOMTOM (to my in addition my XL) and on two different computers we've downloaded HOME. Neither computer recognizes the device as connected to install updates on... any ideas???

You don't tell us which model you have other than an XL. Any of the newer models do NOT use Home as their interface application.
