Dead tomtom one 3rd

Hi anybody can help me this.
Today my gps can not be turn on.I brought one 3rd one year before. (370 days unfortunatly no warrenty)
Too many people told me the problem should be the battery. So I took the battery off and plug the usb cable. The power led was on. But I still can not turn on my gps. I just want to know if the problem was battary . Should the gps on without battary or not?

In theory, your unit should be able to run only on the charger with no battery but you wouldn't be able to connect to Home to ever get updates as it wouldn't start up.

You've tried a reset on the unit?

There was nothing happen when I hold the reset without battary.
I don't know what should I do. Change the battary or buy a new one.

Try putting the battery back in. Then let it charge for at lease 24 hours. Sometimes the battery os so 'dead' that it takes a long time to bring it back up to specs. Also the battery may be acting as a 'buffer' so it needs to be installed in order to yun it from your USB Port.
