Can you preserve favorites after map update?

Greetings all,

Just got a TT720 and updated the maps under the 30 day policy. Everything went fine - no problems with the download or install.

However, after the maps were installed, my HOME location and all my saved Favorites were gone. It was not a big deal to set them up again (only had about a dozen addresses saved in my favorites), but it would have been a real pain if the list was longer.

Does this happen every time you update the maps? If so, is there a way to save them first? I ran a backup prior to the map update, but I could not figure out how to reload just the favorites file.

Any help/suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!!

Favorites are stored in mapsettings.cfg file. Just copy it from your backup onto the updated device.

Thanks! I've been using GPS systems for years, but this is my first TT (been a Garmin and Magellan user). Lots to learn yet!
