Backing up One Xl S on a Mac

Please could someone give me the step by step idiots guide to backing up my ONE XL S using a macbook?
 
Use the information found in this link.

Where the information refers to Explorer (pc), you'd use Finder (Mac).

Also, I understand that Mac users needn't worry about ensuring hidden files/folders are showing.
