If I can't back my TomTom up to the SD card, what's the point in having the SD card there? Anyone know?

To install the newer larger maps thar are already out for some of the top end devices.

PS
Take good care of your 730. My 930 is still the best I ever owned.

This is more a question than a reply, but it is related.

I have a GL1000, and noticed that after the latest update I only have 100Mb spare memory left of the on-board 4Gb. Does anyone know if a Tomtom GL1000's memory can be upgraded?

May seem a stupid question...I have a go500..if you cant access the msd card on computer.. only using
mydrive..( i put a 8gb in just cos i had one spare) whats the purpose?

The microcard is used for maps that don't fit into internal storage (usually 4 gb). That's why getting a 4gb microcard is useless. Should be 8 or even 16 gb in size.
