Avoid interstates with TomTom

Hi.

I need your help! have an XXL 535T and would like to use it to travel around the US on the older two lane highways like Route 66 and avoid most of the interstates.

Is there a way I can program my TomTom to suggest these secondary routes routes instead of the interstates?

Once you have a route established, you may be able (under Details) to Avoid part of route and select the highway there to avoid.

Under preferences -> planning preferences

There should be an option to avoid highways.
