Tomtom GO for Android
App 11.023 has been released for the GO 2535 M LIVE.

This application brings all the travel apps from the GO 1535 M LIVE to the GO 2535 M LIVE, as announced by Tomtom earlier in the month.

Also, this brings an option for auto-on when power is connected.

We'll continue to post more information on this release as we learn more about it in the upcoming days.

Waypoints Being Lost after Power Off/On!

Ok... so I like the added features; etc.... however; I've found one problem.....

After Adding my Waypoints and shut the device off and turn back on it loses them all!! What's up with that?! Now I have to leave the device on all the time in order to not lose them and have to start over.

Am I missing something here? I changed my normal setting from ask me for a destination to continue where I left off in start-up settings to no avail. Please advise. :help:

I'm not sure what you mean by 'waypoints' in the context of the TomTom. Are you taking about 'Favorites' or 'Point of Interest' additions, or by chance points added with 'Travel Via'? How did you add whatever you added. I haven't had any issues with things being remembered as yet.

I'm using the Travel Via -- and TomTom refers to anything added here... as waypoints.

Upon turning the unit on/off -- it seems to be losing them since the update. However; I've been playing with it since my first post... it seems if I don't add anymore than 2 "waypoints" it seems to hold them in memory when I shut the TT off... however - anymore than 2... it loses them.

Also; I've noticed - since the update that the limit is now 3 waypoints - no longer 4 allowed. WTF is TT doing?!

POI in city problem

Has anyone noticed that when you search for a POI in a city, only one city can be seen not two as before Now you need to use down arrow to see multiple cities.

Yes - that has been brought to TT's attention. You'll probably notice one less line per page as well. Since the entries got 'taller', you can't select the 2nd one.

MORE issues............ :(

Ok... now latest problem in addition to my still recurring issue losing waypoints (as TT puts it) AKA Itineraries; now my text message notifications have stopped when my cell phone receives one. WTF!?!?!? :frusty:

I've found lots of settings were changed in the upgrade to 11.023. Did you check voice settings to see if "read aloud text messages" is still checked?

Yes I have -- I'm VERY irriated with TT lack of support. When I called them about the first issue I'm having re: the loss of waypoints they were clueless after a 10 minute conversation I felt like it was to just get me off the phone and said "sorry we don't know what is causing it - but it seems like it's an error with the update and/or no longer supported" what is with this company?!

There appears to be a massive performance improvement with this update too. About 5 seconds after the TomTom startup image went away my GO 2535 LIVE unit was connected to the live traffic service. With the navcore version prior to this one it took about 45-60 seconds in the best case. In the worst case it took over 2 minutes. Also, the automatic changes from day to night (and vice versa) now happen the very moment the connection to the live traffic service is established. The keyboard has been considerably improved as well. When I accidentally roll my finger while pressing a letter it no longer causes the button next to it to be pressed instead. In other words, no Q when I roll my finger while pressing the W key. I can type on the TomTom keyboard just as fast as I can on SwiftKey on my Nexus S 4G phone. No more sluggishness with the TomTom keyboard.

Tomtom has just released the changelog.

  • When the device is connected to the charging cable in a car, the device will turn on and off with the car ignition.

@mvl:

"Frequent destinations are now stored as favourites automatically"

Have you seen any evidence of that with the units/firmware that we are both using? If so, I missed it somewhere. And what do you suppose they mean by "frequent"?

Talk about vague waffle!

  • The keyboard is redesigned to make interaction more user-friendly
  • When planning a route to a favourite, you can add a favourite if none has been added previously

[/LIST]

What on earth do those two mean??? (especially the second one!)

I'm still having slow connections and/or after it connects the bar dissapears and reappears.... and still having the SMS notification no longer working.

:help:

So with the new keyboard the interface is a lot faster?

I was looking at a display today at Best Buy and it was about as fast as my Garmin 765t, I thought something this new would be significantly faster.

Everything else about this unit is awesome.

Well I figured out I had a 3rd party app on my Android stopping the SMS notifications from working -- so that's fixed... :) however; I'm still having slow/intermittent problems connecting to traffic/other Live Services - anyone else notice this since update?

Can you tell me if it has the numerals at the top now?

i.e.
Did it have them before?
Does it have them now?

The only thing I can think of that would make them say "The keyboard is redesigned to make interaction more user-friendly" Is if they have put the numbers back (for entering things like postcodes).

But knowing TT's marketing department they would also say that if they have taken them away! (makes the keyboard "simpler")

Another example is the spin they have put on "In lists, 5 options are shown instead of 6, which makes selection easier at arm?s length"

Maybe a tiny bit easier at full stretch BUT far harder when you can no longer select the second item in the list without expanding out the page. :(

They need to add 'saved searches'. Garmin has that on its latest but not on the connected units where that belongs.
