5100 power problem.

As above,
Occasionally...... my device won't turn on,
I press the button on back, still no joy.
after persevering, I press for 20 - 30 seconds out of the mount it eventually comes on.
The unit has turned itself off and turned on again all on its own In the mount when I'm driving.
It will be OK for quite a while, then it'll happen again.
Can anyone guide me on what to do?

Maybe the battery is not charging properly try another cable.
also try charging your GPS via a phone charger.
or maybe the media is faulty.

When I put it in the mount, would it not matter if the battery was flat?.
One thing I forgot to say, I had it hardwired at halfords, but the problem was there before when it was plugged into the cigar lighter socket... Just thought I'd mention it.

A GO 5100 consumes battery power especially if it is connected to the live service.

A GPS plugged into the cigarette lighter keeps your battery charged, not recharges it.
