Win 7 Driver needed..?

first time I've tried to connect my 720 to my new laptop.

Device not recognized. Seems windows cannot load or will not load the driver for this device.

I tried searcdh and did not get any hits..?/

Anyone.?

dhn..thankyou but no joy. I tired the troubleshooter last night with the TomTom off and also with it on..still no joy. Have looked on internet, windows update..nada. I know not where to go at this stage.

Have tried to manually add hardware for a driver..but I have no idea as to what the gps "is" in relation to the type of hardware windows says it might be...if that makes any sense.

This is frustrating...particularly when i need to update my maps and cannot sign in.

Laptop is brand new Acer Aspire running an intel i3 processor 350M, 2.265Ghz, 3megs of L3 cache, 4 gb ram, etc etc etc...this should work flawlesly.

You did try a pin reset on the unit before connecting to the computer???

Also seeing a few links where it says to unplug the notebook AND disconnect the battery for about 5 minutes........

RESET...! dont know why I did not think of doing that. reset the Go720 and all is well.
