Will not connect to PC

My TomTom One XL will not connect to PC,it asks on screen if I wish to connect when I plug USB lead in,I click on yes but the TomTom just switches off and back on. PC says it doesn't recognise device.Ihave tried the advice on their website,re-setting TomTom,looking in device manager on PC,and I have phoned TomTom but have had no joy.

Have a look on the base of the device and there should be a reset switch in a small hole, give that a prod with a pin and try again - you won't lose any settings doing this - Mike

As I said in my original post I have already tried re-setting it and it made no difference.

Try a different usb port. If that doesn't make a difference, then try a different usb cable.

Did it ever connect to a PC before? What application version is it running?

Application 6 and earlier were kind of unstable with USB. If it is application 6 post back and we can walk you through an SD-card based workaround to get it working.
