Water Maps

I live next to Langebaan Lagoon South Africa and use my TomTom on the lagoon from my boat as a gps on the water by just clicking on Maps...it would be nice to have more detail of the Lagoon...is this possible?

Welcome to TTF. I would doubt that what you request will happen. As TomToms are road based gps units, any efforts by TomTom/TeleAtlas to upgrade maps will focus on the road structure in a country, not its waterway system.

Look at "Off Road Navigator" as a third party plug in for the TomTom as this can be used to show your position on a picture (map) that is calibrated against the lat/ long coordinates of the corners of the picture, multiple pictures can be used to cover a larger are. Be aware creating the pictures and the calibration file can take some considerable effort though! - Mike
