Upgrade Regional to Western Europe?

I'm thinking about getting a TomTom One XL. The GB only version is cheaper than the Europe version for the obvious reason that it only has the maps for GB on it. Would it be possible to purchase the maps for western Europe at a later date? Is it just a case of getting a bigger SD card to store the maps on or is there a reason the europe maps wouldn't work on the GB unit?

The maps will work on all units

You can purchase new maps anytime by going to the TomTom website. You will see the prices there, so you can compare the cost effectiveness.

The downside is that you will now be paying for 2 copies of the UK map.

By my calculation, you will have to pay another ?54 (that's the price of the present 20% off sale!) for the map. So what's the price spread between the to units in the shop?

Another factor to consider is when you plan to go to Europe. If it isn't until next year, then it makes sense to wait for purchasing the Europe map, as it should be more up to date. But you'll pay more!
