Truck 620
I've had my TomTom for a few years now. I was having issues connecting to my Drive via my phone a few months ago. I ended up doing a factory reset and uninstalled and reinstalled myDrive on my phone. My map is out of date and hasn't updated since April 2019. Is there a way to update? It use to do it automatically.

Are you able to connect your 620 to WiFi, perhaps a home router? Remember, you can't do new maps using the USB cable.

Map updates have never been automatic, though the notifications have been.

I'm connected to my wifi. The only thing it shows me for updates is safety cameras or charging stations (which I could care less about). But I'm supposed to have lifetime maps with this. Not a big deal when I'm local driving, but on my road trips out west or to North Carolina, I was driving in the middle of nowhere according to TomTom.

So how do I update my maps if it isn't automatically done?

You wouldn't want it to be automatic. If you were using your phone for a WiFi connection, you'd likely blow through your monthly data plan in about 10 minutes! You need to choose when and how you manage your updates since we're talking 8GB at a whack here.

You go into the Menu, Settings, and Updates & New Items should show a red circle with a number indicating how many items, including maps, need to be updated. Or you can connect to your PC with MyDrive Connect running, and it will advise what is waiting for your device.

You can either use WiFi to do the update, or update using MyDrive Connect app on your PC. The latter will probably be a bit faster.
