TomTom Model(s)
GO 950
I have been diagnosed with being "corrupted' during a download on my GO 950.
I was delighted to get a 6 step plan to get me back among the living.
I run a Mac and most steps gave a Mac option.
Until Step 5, that is.
- Hold down the Windows button on your computer Keyboard and tap the R button
- In the run dialogue box that opens type %appdata% and click OK
- A window will open containing several files and folders. Delete the TomTom folder.
- Hold down the Windows button on your computer Keyboard and tap the R button
- In the run dialogue box that opens type %temp% and click OK
- Delete the contents of this folder. You may be prevented from deleting some files- do not worry about this, just delete the ones that you can.

Even many years of Windows didn't prepare me for that one, never mind trying to figure a Mac equivalent.
I have contacted TomTom about this. I haven't got a reply yet and am wary of appearing to be a pain in the a***.
Any help would be gratefully appreciated.
Thanks

Well, in Windows 7, the following path:

C:\Users\(yourname)\AppData\Local will have two relevant folders: 1) Tomtom and 2) Temp.

The instructions were to delete the tomtom folder and delete as many files as you could from the temp folder.

So, use Finder to find the equivalent path as I highlighted in red and then do the deleting ........

Thank you.
I think you've got me on the right track,
I just found in another forum that the weird Windows instruction corresponds to
user/library/application support/ in Mac.
On getting there I found a TomTom HOME folder, (but presumably not the TomTom folder mentioned in the instruction list), no sign of a Temp folder either.
I think I'm closing in on the problem.
I do wish TomTom support would get back to me on this.
Makes me feel I've upset them in some way.
Thank you for shining a light on the problem.

Just to let you know.
I decided to stop messing around, deleted the TomTom Home folder.
Took a chance on Mac not saving the Temps and I think I'm sorted !
Thanks again
