Hi

does anyone know what the difference is between the TT rds-tmc receivers version 2 and version 3?

Version 3 is easily recognized in that it has the little plastic egg on the cable. This version is more stable than the previous versions (esp 1), and since the introduction of the 9.4XX code for some older models, is now compatible with quite a number of devices that were previously stuck with the outdated cables for which no replacements could be found that would bring the 'subscription' up to date. All in all, good deal.

TT are still recommending Version 2 for the Via series, does that mean that V.3 is not compatible?

I can pick up V.2 for about 20UKPs but V.3 is 50UKPs.

Is the difference worth 30UKPs ?

Look at the receivers in this link:

Look carefully at the connectors on each. The one that fits your Via130 is the one you want (I think it's the one on the left but check to make sure).
