Traffic Receiver Cable

I have a TomTom XL with firmware 8.083.

My Traffic cable tells me that it won't work with the current map view.

I've read some posts that indicate I need to upgrade to firmware 9.400.

Where do I go to get this download?

Connect to Home. Click on 'Update my Unit'. A newer application should be offered. Install and detach properly from Home using the Device Disconnect icon.

I've already tried to update as you suggested.

No firmware update was offered or downloaded during the update process.

Any other suggestions?

Make an Explorer, not Home, backup of your unit's contents. If not sure how, see here:

Then connect to Home. Manage my Device (2nd page, purple folder). Items on unit tab, application, select to remove. You'll get a warning but do so anyway.

Then, items on computer tab, application. Again, delete.

Now then, 'Update my Unit' and install the application offered. Disconnect properly from Home using the Device Disconnect icon. What application version is installed?

I take it that there's not a website that simply has the firmware upgrade available?

Have you made the Explorer backup? If so, go here:
http://download.tomtom.com/sweet/navcore/9.430.1-2008.go.CAB-navcore-GO.cab

And extract the files using WinRar, overwriting as necessary.
