TomTom Safety Cameras offer

I have a TT XXL540S and have just received an email from Tom Tom offering me their "Safety Cameras" for $A39. Can anyone explain what this actually does and should I try it. My TomTom already appears to have most of the Red Light and fixed Speed cameras on my map (in southern NSW and ACT at least). I would not like to lose these by any new program overwriting my existing alerts.
Therefore my question is do I need it.

For your money you will get periodic updates to the Safety Camera database on your device these updates can be downloaded by you via Home for a 12 month period. - Mike
