Hi at all,

I am trying to connect my Tomtom to my Mac to update it.
I have downloaded and installed the latest version available (v. 4.3.4.5022) but I can't login.
I have tried many times but the response is always the same: "server too busy" which results in a timeout error on the log
Has anyone tried and detect the same problem ?

Thanks

Hi Andrews_001 -

I have been having a similar issue - but MyDrive Connect isn’t even opening up on my IMac, even after uninstalling and reinstalling. Hoping the problem is resolved commencing tomorrow when the TT team are back from their hard earned weekend break.

I have the same issue - would REALLY need to update it for tomorrow. Going to drive to Poland. Using version 4.4.0540 on Windows 11. Freshly installed Windows and client.

There is a problem with Tomtom servers the solution wait for Tomtom to resolve the problem
which file do you want to update?

now a year later, the issue persists once again. you would think that they would have sorted the issue out by now and have servers that CAN cope with demand etc

Sometimes there are bugs with the servers, but the problems don't last long, so you have to look elsewhere than on a problem with the Tomtom servers.

except the message on screen SAYS the servers are the issue. ive been trying to simply download quickfix GPS updates for 5 HOURS now. ive powered the computer on and off, checked the version im running (4.5.0.5086 which as i only reinstalled Mydrive connect 2 weeks ago, id guess is the latest version), checked i have no antivirus/anti malware etc that could conflict, everything else works fine EXCEPT mydrive connect. so what would you suggest it is?

I have the same problem. (July 2025) Trying for 2 weeks already to download the small quickfix file. Only response is: Sorry our servers are busy. Try again later.
I am pretty sure there are no busy servers if you want to buy an update. I bought my navi with lifelong map updates and it worked fine for the first 5 or 6 updates. After that always busy servers....

@Tom Ahto Try the below steps and check:

(a) Uninstall the TomTom MyDrive Connect > Reboot your computer and reinstall it, https://help.tomtom.com/hc/en-gb/articles/11189995645074-Reinstalling-MyDrive-Connect. While doing it the GPS unit should be disconnected.

(b) Reboot the GPS unit and connect it to a computer.

(c) Empty the Downloads folder via the settings and click Save Settings.(It can be done by- Click on the cogwheel at the top right corner on TomTom MyDrive Connect > Click on Downloads > Click on "Empty Downloads" and "Deselect the download updates on my computer" > Click on Save settings.

Initiate the download and check.

yes uninstalling and reinstalling works. until you dont need the device for a couple of months then try to update it again, and then the problem comes back. i have spent WEEKS trying to get TomTom to sort this issue, but to no avail. its a money making racket in my opinion. something to get you annoyed and buy either a new device, or a subscription to their smartphone service, so they can keep cashing in on customers. at least the older TomTom Home for older devices didnt have this problem.
The fact is, they wont fix the problem. they dont care about customers enough to fix it. so the solution is to keep uninstalling Mydrive connect EVERY time you do an update (unless you more or less update it every week, which MIGHT mean you never see it) and reinstalling it again, even though its the EXACT SAME version etc. OR you will NEVER get to update the device

If you have the possibility to try with another computer, also try with another cable.

no point. it makes no difference. ive tried all of that. even tried using a different internet connection in another COUNTY (at a relatives house) different computer, different cable, different IP address and everything and NO difference

In Windows 11, if you search for an App, once you find it you have a choice to open it simply or exe as admin.
The second worked in my case (right now).

im using windows 10. apparently the 'last' version of windows (which my system was originally built for) isnt actually the last version at all, and now, a few years later, it will soon be running an obsolete version of windows
