TomTom Home will not recognize SD card

Laptop running Windows 7. Downloaded TomTom Home Ok. Put Renault Carminat SD card into card slot ok. Computer sees card and all files ok. TomTom Home icon in icon tray states Navigation device connected. TomTom Home main software states No device connected. Car Renault Clio 2013. Any help or suggestions.

Have you tried a drum reset on the unit by holding down the power button about 20 seconds till you hear the drum sounds?

Hi. Dont know how to do this as TomTom in car is built in together with entertainment system. The instruction book states to update remove SD card and plug into computer containing TomTom Home software.
