Tomtom go android auto drive direction

I have been using TomTom GO with Android Auto for quite some time. What I find annoying is that it always starts with the map oriented north-up instead of in the current driving direction. I have to manually change this on the car's display every time. In the app itself, the setting is correct. Is there a way to change this so that it always starts in the current driving direction?

On the phone, in Settings then Maps, Display then Zoom and orientation, is 3D checked?

If you use the app without being connected to Android Auto, do you also have north at the top?

That's strange. Even in this mode, the map is not displayed in 3D and driving-direction view, even though the setting is set to 3D. Very odd.

If you click on the arrow, it should switch to 3D.

Yes, that's what I do, but I have to do it every time the system starts because the setting doesn't stay saved.

If I plan a route and then tap GO, the route automatically switches to 3D.

I don't know if this could be a solution. Have you tried uninstalling and then reinstalling the app?
