This is my third posting on the same topic herein, as I thought I should publish a sixty-day update/recap.....

Early May, via emails to senior TomTom leadership (the president's office), I reported the aberrant behavior I’ve encountered with the above configuration.

First foremost, all the apps are at the latest version, including Toyota Infotainment and my Samsung Galaxy Android itself.

Additionally, as updates are published, I’ve updated my smartphone, all with all updates all with nil improvements/changes.

= = =

To wit, the TomTomGo voice generated guidance often truncates/clips/abbreviates the last few syllables.

____ Make a right turn and then….[click / silence]

____ Take the third street on the right and then….[click / silence]

____ Make a left turn and then turn ….[click / silence]

This is a recurring and repeatable anomaly, whether on local streets or highways.

The guidance clipping occurs to a significantly lesser extent with WAZE, but does occur.

In using Google Maps guidance, it is never truncated/clipped/abbreviated.

Also, I opened a ticket with the Toyota Brand Engagement Center, its national customer escalation group.

[My vehicle: 2025 Toyota Crown Limited Sedan - hybrid.]

I have performed extensive testing and a Toyota super-tech also performed extensive testing.

Bluntly, it ain’t the Toyota Infotainment software.

Moreover, all three navigation apps employ Android Auto, but, as noted, Google Maps never clips words or a syllables.

When I assert I’ve notified TOMTOM leadership, I have provided multiple emails, over the last six weeks, with copious examples of the truncated/clipped/abbreviated.

= = =

When I disable Android Auto, the TomTomGo guidance via the smartphone speaker is 100% complete.

Of course, there is no map on the Toyota screen, and I can't keep looking down at the smaller smartphone screen.

I’ve submitted the anomaly to Google Play Store.

But akin to the roach motel, the anomalies go in but the anomalies (response) don’t come out.

When I continued to use TomTomGo, I elected 2D move as I could then "see" the turns, etc on the Toyota's screen dispaly

Along the way, in my emails to TomTom (Netherlands) I have pointedly identified several functions which were not properly carried forward from the physical TomTom 500/600 software. By the way, I was a beta tester of the TomTom 500/600 series.

True, different products, but some functionality has been abandoned in translating the app to a smartphone. To wit:

___ The green information block (top left on the map display) does not display the target/ EXIT #. While the EXIT # is available in the route preview, it is not displayed for the driver when in guidance mode. The display is incomplete, showing only the strret name and miles to the exit.

___ There is no verbalization of an alternate / better route. While the two headed green arrow appears on the right side bar, there is no accompanying information, either via display or verbalization. And, there is no way to retrieve.

___ Suddenly, the guidance awakes to announce: “In two miles take the exit on the right, etc.” I surmise it’s the “alternate” better route, which I did not elect to use, as I don’t know if I wish to select the alternate route, without ancillary information; all absent from the display.

___ In guidance mode, the upper left green display shows a street name and a turn arrow. But, my route does not require I exit the roadway I’m using nor is the street name my destination. An obtuse message. Confusing in the least. Can't be a "unique" highway turn as the highway I was driving wanders left and right.

Feedback from the Netherlands?

Absolutely, I receive a response to every email submitted.

But the reply message is essentially the same: “Our technology team is working on it”.

The good news: I receive a reply.

The bad news: nothing changes.

You're on a user forum and have created 11 posts explaining that you're having a problem with Android Auto and that the TomTom app is useless.

If you don't get an answer, it's because we don't have one here.

Have you tried changing the output channel in the Sounds & Alerts app settings, then in Audio Output?

I'm posting again as I felt a need to allow forum users to have a greater understanding should they encounter a similar/same issue

Thanks,
I believe there are four modes of connectivity. Tried all that “connected”. There was no change in behavior, viz.: all which connected were clipped.

And, per feedback/request from TomTom, I tried multiple other voices: English (US) and English (UK). Again, no change in behavior.
