I am looking to buy a TomTom GO 600 and need to know if it shows railroads at all and if it does at what levels.
Just need to know as I drive in pursuit of my hobby of train photography and need to know best routes to get to
various trackside locations.
Thanks .

You'll find that it shows current tracks both active and inactive, and more often than it probably should, where the tracks-to-trails program has turned them into pedestrian walkways! They don't always get those deleted promptly, which certainly doesn't sound like it will be an issue for you since you know where you're going.

I would recommend to you the site http://www.tomtom.com/mapshare/tools/
The actual purpose of that site is to correct map errors, but in the process, you get to see an online version of a TomTom map that's usually about 3 months old. You'll need to create some sort of login email and password - that's because when a user makes corrections, it keeps track of them for you so you can track status. In your case, of course, it will be only for the purpose of looking around their map to see what you think of the track coverage.

Thanks very much for your response. Exactly what I need to know and the site reference helped too. Definitely going to get either the 500 or 600.
