Tomtom 920 not connecting

My Tomtom 920 isn't maintain a connection to my car charger or my docking station. Is there a way to fix the mini type a connector?

Could it be that a little grunge may have gotten into the usb opening? Look in there with a flashlight and see if there is dirt or something in there. If so, perhaps CAREFULLY pluck it out with a toothpick or something sharp (or even a shot of compressed air......)

Thanks. I thought about that...the compressed air. If that doesn't work, any other suggestions?

Does the car charger or the mount feel solidly in place when you try them? And how long has this been going on? (don't suppose it's still under warranty?)

It might be for a few more days. Bought it mid May 2008. Have the same issues with the car charger. Tried another type A connector. With all of them I feel mobility in the unit connector.
