tom tom go 520 help

hello there this morning i updated my tom tom as some bits wasnt working but overall it was fine but now it wont stay on if you have it on a few minutes it turns its-self off anybody know how i can solve this as its no good if im on the motorway and it keeps turning itself off every few minutes

Is the unit connected to the car charger? If so, is the connection solid? Do you have a battery savings preference to turn the unit off if external power is lost?
