First post to the forum. Living in UK and have a basic Tom Tom One. Paid for and installed maps for trip to France, worked perfectly. At same time paid for two years of updates. Just tried first update which failed to complete due to lack of space. Suggested I delete something to make space for the upgrade. But what? I think it's a bit naughty of Tom Tom not to advise you that that there is the possibility that there may not be enough space for updates when you have uploaded additional maps. Is there a solution to this. Any advice most welcome.

Welcome to the forum Steve, does your device have an SD card (Memory card) in the base of the device or not? if it does the simple answer id to fit a larger capacity memory card (2GB limit so no larger than that), no memory card or slot means you will have to remove the UK map from the device and store it on the computer to free up some space for the French map - Mike

Welcome to TTF.

Try uninstalling any voices you don't use. Copy your UK map to the computer using Explorer. DON'T let Home remove it!! Once you are SURE the backed up map folder is on your computer, delte the folder from the unit.

Try dl and installing the France map now. If it works, then copy the newly installed France map folder to the computer, delete the France map folder from the unit when you are SURE it has been copied to the computer and restore the UK map.

When you need the France map, just reverse the process.........

Thanks for that advice. TomTom One has no SD card slot. It's the cheapie! Will copy France map to computer after next visit which is next week and then update UK maps. Will reverse process as suggested for further visit to France in August.
