Tom tom 940 street names??

I've got a Go-940 that I've used once or twice, & was wondering if it can speak street names?
So far it only tells me turn left ETC.

Your 940 can read out street names etc, first of all go to Change Preferences/ Voice Preferences/ Change Voice and make sure one of the "Computer" voices is selected, they will have the word Computer against the name in the list (Kate/ Simon for UK). On the next screen you can use the "Test" button to listen to the voice, then the devce presents a list of checkboxes, make sure the following are selected:

"Read aloud street names"
"Read aloud foreign street names"
"Read aloud road numbers"

The other options can be set to whatever you feel happy with as they are not related to reading out road numbers or names - Mike

Okay, that worked, but I'm in the US, don't see any US computer voices, in my list of voices.
Can they be downloaded from the TOM TOM site?

Yep, in Home.......Add Voices.......computer voices.

TA1754, just curious - do you get any live services at all in the US with your 940?
