Speed Camera Alerts are Deactivated

Hi,
I got an email from TomTom on 24th October, saying my speed camera alerts are deactivated. I would have to pay to activate them now.
When I bought my TomTom Start 52, it came with lifetime speed camera updates. Has anyone else come across this, and resolved it, without resorting to buying new updates?
