Route voice commands stopped working

Hi, I am new to TomTom - had the 'Go - Classic' just a couple of weeks and it has been working as expected until last few days.

The problem concerns the absence of voice commands. The device plots the route and I select 'Drive' and then 'Let's Go' and the voice tells me the anticipated arrival time. Then we set off and get no route commands for junctions or seemingly anything else.
It has been working normally until the last few days, then suddenly nothing.

Have you selected a Malcolm or Serena voice to read street names.

Hi, Will. I have used Serena right from the start and hadn't changed the voice when it stopped working. I have since tried both CG and recorded voices to no effect.

Have you checked that the icon is not disabled.

you got it, Willy875, the voice instructions were switched off. Didn't know about that button... but I do now.

Absolutely brilliant, thank you. We are in France and it has just happened to us 48 hours ago! We now know about this. Typically, we are on a straight road for 35 km! Will report back when she speaks to us again or not! Fingers crossed
